Gospel long haul

As the only Slovenian gospel choir Bee Geesus has participated, as we do every year, on the marathon reading of the Bible which is a unique spiritual experience that takes place at the end of the Week for Christian Unity.

Interesting speeches of representatives of the various Christian churches, among them Archbishop Stanislav Zore, have taken us into reading the Book of books. The Archbishop stressed the need to retreat into silence, as the word of God only in silence finds its place. To find Him, was the wish of the participants of the marathon.

The Kick-off event in the Bible marathon, this years motto was “speak to the heart”, passed in the spirit of interconnectedness between Christian churches around the world. In the spirit of that connection, the participants were able to listen to the reading of the Bible via Internet in Albania, Serbia and Macedonia. Bee Geesus gospel choir made it a more in-depth experience because of inspirational songs that created an atmosphere of warmth and closeness of God.

The cast of approximately thirty singers has gladly participated on the Bible marathon on several occasions. Already in 2010, we helped shape the end event, which was held in the courtyard of the church in Poljane. A year later our voices accompanied the evening worship at Butchers’ Bridge in Ljubljana and in 2012 we sang in the company of Nuška Drašček in the church in Poljane. Event organisers have also repeatedly placed the events at central points in the Capital. Thus, the Bee Geesus choir was at Prešeren Square in 2013 and in Congress Square a year later.
