Gospelkirchentag 2016

Every two years a cappella gospel choir Bee Geesus attends the largest gospel festival in Europe, which takes place in Germany. This year the festival takes place in Braunschweig from 9th to 11th of September.

We have attended said festival three times before, first in September 2010 in the German city of Karlsruhe, where the festival was visited by 70.000 visitors, two years later, in June 2012 we were in Dortmund and in 2014 in Kassel.

With fresh and unique approach to gospel music Bee Geesus has always enjoyed positive criticisms and got a great deal of interest in the German media.

This year we will be performing on Friday 9th of September at 20:30 at the site of Schloss-Arkaden. On Saturday 10th of September we are singing on the main stage of the Festival in the heart of the city, this special honor belongs to only select few that are chosen by the organizers.

About Gospelkirchentag 2016

The biggest festival of gospelmusic in Europe, the eighth international Gospelkirchentag, brings together 5000 singers from Germany and Europe. “Welcome home” will be the slogan for the three days of celebrating and singing, but there will also be time for thinking and talking about what impulses the gospelmovement can give to the society.

Braunschweig combines with its numerous sights in the historic centre tradition and modern times and offers with short ways between the different locations and the Volkswagenhalle (10 minutes by foot away from the city) a perfect place for a festival of these dimensions.

Workshops provide new ideas and inspirations for the everyday work of singers, outstanding concerts on many stages open air, in churches and in the Volkswagenhalle, a big festivalservice on the Schlossplatz: all this offers the Gospelkirchentag.
